Practice & Team

Canning Vale Dental Centre is a privately owned dental practice, established in Canning Vale for 29 years and relocated to its current modern purpose built premises in 1999.

Our growth has been achieved by word of mouth and referrals.

The practice is jointly owned by Derek Mark and Bill Hawkes and supported by a friendly team of dental auxiliaries who have been selected and trained in specific duties to provide our patients with optimum dental care.

Dr. Derek F. Mark

Derek graduated with credit in his dental degree in 1985. After a stint in hospitals and travelling Derek started the Canning Vale Dental Centre in 1989 to provide dental care to a growing community.

He enjoys providing quality dentistry for all ages. He has seen many anxious patients and takes pride in treating them in a pain free caring manner.

Derek provides all different types of dental care with a special interest in Crown & Bridge, Implant and Smiles.

He also treats Snoring & Sleep Apnoea.

He has lectured and is a member of the Australian Dental Association and a number of affiliated organizations.

Dr. Bill Hawkes

Bill graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1984. He has worked in private practice since then including six years in London.

He joined Derek in partnership at the Canning Vale Dental Centre in 2000.

Bill has developed an interest in Oral Surgery, including Wisdom Teeth Removal and treatment of patients under General Anaesthetic. Bill also has a keen interest in CAD/CAM dentistry using a CEREC machine.

Bill is a member of the Australian Dental Association and a number of affiliated organizations.
